What you’ll be doing:
This is an extremely entrepreneurial position and requires the decision making, work ethic and tenacity of an entrepreneur. You will be asked to do A LOT! But in general, you will focus on three main functions:
1.    Product Definition and Development – Explore both market and customer drivers that should shape the product. Analyze, prioritize and define them as product requirements then work with the development team to build and launch them.
2.    Internal Support – Provide documentation and training to internal teams to understand product features and functionality so that they can be sold and supported.
3.    Marketing & Sales Support – Assist marketing with product release notes, whitepapers, webinars and campaigns to promote HireVue’s solutions. Support the sales team by assisting with responses to RFIs and RFPs and assisting with sales presentations and product demonstrations.
To successfully execute these three functions you will need to:
  • Roadmap Planning: Develop comprehensive product plans, which incorporate customer requirements, define the competitive arena, and establishes the objectives, strategies, and actions required to achieve business goals. Contribute to the overall business and marketing strategy in your areas of focus.
  • Requirements Gathering: Employ various approaches to gathering requirements including competitive and market analyses, user behavioral analysis, understanding of emerging technologies, interviews, focus groups, structure analysis, storyboarding and more.
  • Requirements Specification: Prioritize and manage the scope of each product release to deliver key capabilities on time and on budget, while balancing the needs of various organizations, including marketing, sales, engineering, support and operations.
  • Cross-Team Leadership: Act as the internal and external authority and advocate for your given area of focus. Act as the main interface to Engineering for requirements definition and release planning. Lead and coordinate the service launch across all organizations.
  • Marketing Support: Work closely with Marketing and the VP of Product Management in crafting appropriate product positioning. Manage the development and execution of the overall go-to-market strategy for each new product and feature (alpha/beta/launch/support).
  • Support Sales: Answer RFPs, RFIs, create proposals, develop and deliver formal presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Education: Responsible for educating the entire value-chain within HireVue and intended customers on the value proposition and intended use for new capabilities.
  • Customer and Sales Support: Provide product expertise to customers/prospects in support of marketing, sales and implementation activities as required.
  • User Experience: Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure the best possible user experience.
  • Competitive Analysis: Research and maintain product and feature level competitive intelligence.
  • Manage Expectations: Command a full understanding of the intended solution and negotiate software development priorities with departmental stakeholders in executive management, marketing, sales, services, product development, architecture, and production operations. 
  • Define Test Cases: Work with Quality Assurance to define test cases and perform first and second line testing.
  • New Release Communication: Present new release functionality via release notes, customer webinar/live meetings and internal review sessions to market the new release to customers.
  • Bugs: Oversee the execution of feature prioritization/triage with Engineering partners.
What you need:
  • Minimum of 5 years product management or equivalent experience delivering software, software as a service, or high-technology products. Previous product management responsibility in the field of HR technology highly desired.
  •  Minimum of 3 years product, program, and/or project management experience in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services.
  •  B.S. or B.A. Required, MBA preferred.
  • Experience developing HR related solutions a plus.
  • Experience with internet based video delivery.
  •  Familiarity with multimedia architectures including: Windows Media, Quicktime, Real Media, and Flash.
  • Strong working knowledge of agile, iterative development processes.
  • Strong technical understanding of Internet technologies.
  •  Familiarity with PHP, Java, XML and HTML.
  • Desktop publishing skills highly desirable, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expertise with MS Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Visio and Project required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly negotiate and reach consensus across diverse groups/teams a must.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Significant experience translating customer, market, and general business requirements into cohesive product plans and requirements with a well thought-out go-to-market plan to maximize rapid customer adoption and revenue.
  • Able to demonstrate an effective balance of business, creative and technical skills.
  • Must possess a collaborative working style and thrive in a team environment.
